Use this dialog box to generate calculated measures.
General
Use this page to select the calculated measures to generate.
To generate one or more calculated measures:
In the Select Measures for the Calculations list, select one or more measures.
In the Specify Calculation Details list, select one or more templates from one or more template types.
Optional: change the default settings for a template by clicking an underlined value and selecting a different value.
Click Generate Calculations.
Select Measures for the Calculations: Lists the available measures. Select one or more measures on which to base the calculated measures.
Specify Calculation Details: Lists the calculated measures to generate and shows the calculated measure templates for the calculated measures. Select the calculated measures to generate. Modify a template as desired by clicking an underlined value and selecting a different value.
You Have Specified number Calculated Measures.
This table shows the calculated measures to generate.
Calculation Settings: Currently only the default settings are available.
Open: Loads the calculation template file of a calculation measure to generate; use this to load the measures and templates previously selected or to load a previously saved calculated measure.
Save: Saves the calculated measure specification as a template. You may open a saved template, which loads the template in this wizard, and regenerate the calculated measures it specifies.
Use Default: Deletes any calculated measures you have specified and reset this wizard to its default values..
Generate Calculations: Click this button to generate the calculated measures.
Naming Rules
This page lists the calculated measures and specifies the naming rules for generating the name and descriptions for each calculated measure.
The default naming rules use the syntax: {variable} || 'literal'. For example, {measure_name} || '_SHARE' creates the name of the Share calculated measure as the concatenated string of the measure name and the literal string '_SHARE', such as SALES_SHARE.
The columns of the Naming Rules table are:
Name: Identifies the values in the other columns. This column provides a navigation tree with a folder for each calculated measure.
Value: Specifies the naming rules for generating the name and descriptions for each calculated measure. Double-click the current value to edit it. You can use basic SQL functions and syntax to create new rules.
Preview: Displays the names and descriptions using the current naming rules.
Naming Rules Settings: Initially, the default naming rules apply. If you load a calculation template with naming rules, the path to the file is displayed.
Open: Selects and loads a calculation template file with naming rules to apply. To load a calculation template, click this button. In the Open dialog box, navigate to and select a calculation template file, and then click Open.
Save: Saves the calculated measure specification and naming rules as a template. You may open a saved template, which loads the template in this wizard, and regenerate the calculated measures it specifies.
Use Default: Resets the naming rules to the default values.
SQL
This page displays the SQL statements that create the calculated measures.
